Gate

Just a note about the gate.

As some members may be aware the top hinge bolt sheared off last week. We were very fortunate that one of our members, Pete Ford, was able to carry out a rapid and efficient repair. We are very grateful for his willingness to help out.

Please take care opening and closing the gate and prevent it from banging which puts a strain on the hinges.

Could you also pass this information to anyone members you are in touch with by phone or on social media.

Corona Virus:

Another reminder to be extra when handling the lock - many members are spraying the area, thanks for that.
Please follow the Government's current guidance (Follow THIS link.)

Derby Food Growing Network

Kay, from this group has made contacted to inform us of this new initiative.

There is to be a Seed Share event at to be held at Boyer Street Community Rooms (halfway up, near the post box) Saturday 7th March at 1pm.

There will also be a Plant Share day in April, where we can exchange our excess seedlings.  (25th April, venue TBC)

A quote from her email,
"This organisation is in its infancy (started Jan 2020) but growing.  You can join our Facebook group "Derby Food Growing Network", look out for our events on Derby People's Diary, and for those who are feeling keen, we are hoping to do some fundraising soon for community events and for infrastructure such as apple juicer, etc.  There is also the possibility of starting up a new community growing project in Allenton.  So watch this space, and do get in touch!

Please mention Derby Food growing Network to your friends, and we will hope to see you at one of our events soon!"
